This artwork explores the body and Xenotransplantation through the materiality of fabric and thread. Xenotransplantation is the transplantation of animal tissue to replace damaged human tissue. While this process is still developing and faces many ethical and scientific concerns, it still provides comfort to those in need of organ and tissue transplantation who might not otherwise be eligible. Quilts are objects of warmth, rest, and security, all things needed for patients recovering from illness, and connecting to the comfort that developments in medicine can provide. Fibers found in fabrics can be used to bring the materiality of the human body into art. While different fabrics may be different in composition, they can be used in a similar way, stitched together and used to repair each other. Stitching is another point of contact between human physiology and textiles, stitching of human tissue as a method of healing and stitching in quilting as a method of creation. This synthesizing of elements has generated a work which deals with the complexities associated both with the scientific aspects, and human aspects of medical research in Xenotransplantations.

Cette œuvre explore le corps et la xénotransplantation à travers la matérialité du tissu et du fil. La xénotransplantation est la transplantation de tissus animaux pour remplacer des tissus humains endommagés. Bien que ce processus soit encore en développement et face à de nombreuses préoccupations éthiques et scientifiques, il apporte toujours un réconfort à ceux qui ont besoin d'une greffe d'organes et de tissus qui pourraient autrement ne pas être éligibles. Les couettes sont des objets de chaleur, de repos et de sécurité, toutes les choses nécessaires aux patients qui se remettent d'une maladie et se connectent au confort que les développements de la médecine peuvent apporter. Les fibres trouvées dans les tissus peuvent être utilisées pour apporter la matérialité du corps humain dans l'art. Bien que différents tissus puissent être de composition différente, ils peuvent être utilisés de la même manière, cousus ensemble et utilisés pour se réparer les uns les autres. La couture est un autre point de contact entre la physiologie humaine et les textiles, la couture du tissu humain comme méthode de guérison et la couture du matelassage comme méthode de création. Cette synthèse d'éléments a généré un travail qui traite des complexités liées à la fois aux aspects scientifiques et aux aspects humains de la recherche médicale en xénotransplantations.
